The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) announced a new partnership with the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) to empower and develop young people in communities impacted by the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP).
This sponsorship grants youth from these communities access to the LDF’s Youth Development Programme, a bootcamp-style program that focuses on education and development. The LHDA expressed their commitment to ensuring all Basotho benefit from their programs, and this initiative extends valuable opportunities to the nation’s youth.

“By extending access to education and development opportunities, we are investing in the future of these communities and, by extension, the future of Lesotho,” the LHDA stated in a press release.
The LHDA also extended gratitude to the LDF for their “dedication, professionalism, and unwavering support” that has been instrumental to the success of both the LHWP and the Youth Development Programme. They look forward to continued collaboration.
The LHDA also acknowledged other sponsors who have played a vital role in establishing the program. “We hope that our contribution into this consortium will inspire others to do the same,” they concluded.
