Ekiti State to Join ODUAFEST 2024 Tourism Forum

Ekiti State is set to take part in the maiden edition of ODUAFEST 2024: South West Regional Tourism Investment Forum. The event, organized by the South West Zone of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria and the Osun State Tourism Board, will be held in Osun State from Sunday, June 23 to Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Center For Black and International Understanding, Oke Pupa, Abere, Oshogbo, Osun State, South West Nigeria.

ODUAFEST 2024 aims to unite key stakeholders in the South West tourism industry to discuss and promote economic growth and development. The theme of the summit, “Promoting Regional Tourism Economic Expansion & Development,” emphasizes the importance of collaboration and innovation in the tourism sector.

The Ekiti State contingent to the maiden edition of ODUAFEST 2024 is represented by the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development led by Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre, the Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development (Office of The Governor). He is joined by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism Development , Michael Peculiar Ekiran, and the Executive Secretary of the Bureau of Tourism, Barrister Adegboyega Morakinyo. Also part of the team are Tourism Officers Mr. Femi Ogunsola (retired Director of Tourism), Mr. Friday Oshai (Assistant Chief Tourism Officer), and Mrs. Dolapo Ogunleye-Adewumi (Tourism Officer). The Ekiti State delegation is also joined by indigenous cultural troupes Enudunjuyo and Ewa Asa Cultural Troupes.

Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre highlighted the significance of Ekiti’s participation, stating, “ODUAFEST 2024 offers a prime platform to showcase Ekiti’s rich tourism attractions, cultural heritage, natural beauty, and economic potentials. Our involvement aligns with our commitment to regional cooperation and attracting investment for sustainable tourism.”

The event will feature discussions on regional integration for sustainable tourism development, cultural heritage preservation, infrastructure development, and investment opportunities. It will also offer valuable networking opportunities for stakeholders, investors, and tourism professionals.

Ekiti State encourages all South West tourism industry stakeholders to join this landmark event in Osun State and explore the vast potential of regional tourism. This forum represents a crucial step towards enhancing cooperation, mutual understanding, and economic growth within the South West region.

Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development looks forward to welcoming participants to visit Ekiti State’s Stand during this groundbreaking event to experience the enchanting allure of Tourism potentials and Investment opportunities Ekiti State has to offer.
