President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia met with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in London yesterday, reinforcing the strong relationship between Zambia and the United Kingdom as Zambia celebrates its 60th independence anniversary.
Upon arrival in London, President Hichilema was received by the Zambian High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Macenje Mazoka. Hichilema addressed the nation, saying, “Fellow citizens. We have safely arrived here in London where we are scheduled to engage with UK government officials, investors, and other stakeholders. We thank you for your prayers. We shall keep you informed.”
President Hichilema highlighted his government’s focus on economic diplomacy since taking office in 2021, aiming to attract increased investment and trade to Zambia. He expressed gratitude to King Charles III and the British people for their support over the years.
