Riga, Latvia – Botswana’s Ambassador to Sweden, Juliana Angela Dube-Gobotswang, presented her credentials to Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics on June 17th, 2024, officially commencing her ambassadorship with a focus on strengthening ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Dube-Gobotswang delivered greetings from Botswana’s President, Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, and highlighted potential areas of collaboration, including education, smart agriculture, trade, and investment. She also commended Latvia’s recent “Latvia and Countries in Africa Forum” as a positive step towards fostering partnerships and collaboration between Latvia and African nations.
President Rinkevics reciprocated the warm wishes and expressed Latvia’s eagerness to build upon the existing strong bilateral relations established in 2003. Both nations share common ground in their commitment to democracy, rule of law, and good governance. Currently, Botswana maintains non-resident diplomatic relations with Latvia through its embassy in Stockholm, Sweden.
