Monrovia, Liberia – Liberia’s Assistant Minister for American Affairs, Hon. Christiana Monu Wahblo Konneh, expressed her gratitude to the nation and her colleagues as she prepares to depart her post.
Konneh lauded Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti for providing her with “the opportunity to gain new experiences and serve under her exceptional leadership.” She also extended special thanks to Ambassador Sarah Fyneah, Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, and Mrs. Tangbae Gbai for their guidance.
“It has been an honor to serve Mama Liberia, and this experience has been truly enriching,” Konneh said in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Her tenure coincided with a significant development for Liberia’s space ambitions. Konneh expressed her excitement that the “Peaceful Use of Outer Space program, coordinated by the Republic of Liberia, was adopted today.” This marks the third agenda item successfully adopted by Liberia since the 64th session of the Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) began.
Konneh went on to express her deep appreciation for the recognition she received from the Liberian Permanent Mission to the UN team. “Words cannot fully express my gratitude for the appreciation card and the farewell lunch they prepared for me,” she said.
Konneh concluded her statement by reflecting on her approach to her role. “I am not entirely sure what I did to deserve such a heartfelt gesture, but I know that I simply remained true to myself throughout this journey. No pretense, no false impressions – just genuine dedication. I am incredibly grateful for this recognition and for the opportunity to serve.”
