The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) hosted a media workshop on June 7th, 2024, to equip journalists with a deeper understanding of the investment landscape in Ghana.
The day-long session provided insights into the GIPC’s operations, including the legalities governing foreign investment through the GIPC Act, registration procedures for businesses, and the importance of investment reports.
Participants also gained valuable knowledge on the aftercare services offered by the GIPC to support businesses post-registration, and the legalities surrounding technology transfer agreements.
This initiative aimed to empower media stakeholders to accurately portray Ghana’s efforts in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). By equipping journalists with a comprehensive understanding of the GIPC’s activities and current investment trends, the workshop fostered effective communication about Ghana’s position as an attractive investment destination.
The discussions were led by GIPC Deputy CEO Yaw Afriyie Amoateng, alongside Director of Investor Services Edward Ashong-Lartey and Director of Legal Naa Lamley Orleans-Lindsay. Representatives from the Bank of Ghana and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) also participated in the dialogue.
