Homaj International School emerged victorious at the Rasheed Olabamidele Fawehinmi Career Summit held on Democracy Day, showcasing both musical talent and emotional connection to win the hearts of judges and audience alike.
The summit, held at the Ondo Civic Centre, was a vibrant celebration of youth and education, honoring the late Justice Fawehinmi’s lifelong dedication to these values. Organized by Ms. Bolajo Fawehinmi, founder of the Few Models Foundation, the event saw participation from prestigious schools across Ondo state, including St. Louis Secondary School, St. Joseph College, and Ondo Boys High School. The presence of Barrister Mrs. Iyabo Awokoya (née Fawehinmi) added a special touch, underscoring the family’s commitment to her father’s legacy.
Homaj School’s triumph came after captivating performances of “Glorious” by David Archuleta and “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth. Their renditions not only displayed musical prowess but also resonated deeply with the audience, demonstrating an exceptional ability to connect on an emotional level. This combined talent and audience connection secured them the summit’s highest honor.
The victory sparked jubilation among Homaj’s students and faculty. “This win isn’t just for Homaj,” expressed Dr. Adenike Akinsemolu, the school’s director, in a post-event interview. “It’s for everyone who believes in the power of education and the arts to shape young minds.”
