South Sudan, Egypt Aim to Bolster Ties

JUBA, 3 June, 2024 (MFA&IC) - The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan, Hon. Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba, met with the Head of Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Ambassador Mohammed Elmoatez Mostafa, to discuss strengthening ties between the two countries.
JUBA, 3 June, 2024 (MFA&IC) - The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan, Hon. Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba, met with the Head of Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Ambassador Mohammed Elmoatez Mostafa, to discuss strengthening ties between the two countries.

Juba, South Sudan – June 3, 2024 – South Sudan and Egypt pledged to strengthen their bilateral relationship during a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Monday Semaya Kumba and Egyptian Ambassador Mohammed Elmoatez Mostafa.

The discussion focused on areas where the two nations can deepen cooperation. Deputy Minister Kumba expressed appreciation for Egypt’s ongoing support to South Sudan across various sectors, highlighting the long-standing bond between the countries. He specifically acknowledged Egypt’s role in training South Sudanese diplomats and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to working closely together in the future.

Ambassador Mostafa extended congratulations from the Egyptian Foreign Minister on Semaya’s appointment as Deputy Minister. He also used the opportunity to review existing areas of collaboration between South Sudan and Egypt, laying the groundwork for further cooperation.
