The Russian company “Uranium One Group” has inaugurated a new kitchen facility at the “Noasanabis” primary school in a move to address child nutrition challenges in Leonardville, Namibia. This initiative, part of the broader “Wings” project focusing on uranium oxide extraction in Namibia’s Omahake region, underscores the company’s commitment to social responsibility.

The ceremony, held on May 24th, saw the participation of key dignitaries, including the Governor of Omaheke Region, embassy diplomats, Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development, the Director of Headspring Investments, the Mayor of Leonardville, traditional leaders, and public representatives. The event also featured local talent performances.

Speakers at the ceremony emphasized the significance of the kitchen facility in addressing local child nutrition issues and praised the collaboration between Russia and Namibia in economic development. They specifically commended Uranium One Group for its support of socially impactful projects like the school lunch program, highlighting its positive contribution to the community’s well-being.
