President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia received letters of credence this afternoon from a new High Commissioner and three Ambassadors designate to Zambia.
The diplomats who presented their credentials were Mr. Emmanuel Bugingo, High Commissioner of Rwanda, Mr. Thomas-Marie Rossignol, Ambassador of France, and Dr. Jasim Mohamed Mubaraki, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates.
President Hichilema acknowledged Rwanda’s advancements across various economic sectors, advocating for peer-to-peer learning and enhanced bilateral cooperation between the two nations. He highlighted the growing relations between Zambia and France, expressing gratitude for French support, particularly their role in co-chairing the official creditors’ committee that facilitated Zambia’s debt restructuring under the G20 Common Framework.
Regarding the UAE, President Hichilema emphasized the commitment to collaborative efforts at both bilateral and multilateral levels to promote sustainable development and address global challenges such as climate change.
President Hichilema extended his best wishes for a successful tenure to the new diplomats during their service in Zambia.
