Dubai, UAE – Emirates announced the much-anticipated return of passenger flights to Nigeria, starting October 1st, 2024. The airline will operate a daily service between Lagos and Dubai, offering travelers more options and seamless connections through Dubai’s vast network.

“We are thrilled to reconnect with Nigeria,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer. “The Lagos-Dubai route has always been popular, and we look forward to welcoming back both leisure and business travelers.”

The daily service will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring luxurious cabins with 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 304 Economy Class seats. Passengers can expect regionally-inspired meals, a vast selection of beverages, and access to over 6,500 channels of entertainment, including Nigerian movies.

We’re back Nigeria! We’ll be resuming services to Lagos from 1 October 2024, and we can’t wait to offer unrivalled connectivity to Dubai and beyond to over 140 cities. https://t.co/EXGK0g1CnA pic.twitter.com/0AWJpWbBah

This resumption strengthens ties between Nigeria and the UAE, particularly Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub. Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s cargo division, will also benefit, offering over 300 tonnes of cargo capacity weekly. This will facilitate the export of Nigerian goods like Kola Nuts, food & beverages, and urgent courier materials, while also importing essential supplies like pharmaceuticals and electronics.

Tickets for the Lagos-Dubai route are now available for booking on Emirates’ website or through travel agents. The move expands Emirates’ African network to 19 destinations with 157 weekly flights from Dubai, with additional connections to over 130 African regional points through partnerships with other airlines.
