President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia shared his excitement on Sunday, May 12, 2024, as he attended the 2024 Absa Cup Final at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. The thrilling match pitted Kabwe Warriors against the victorious Red Arrows, who clinched the championship with a 2-1 victory.

In his remarks, President Hichilema praised the captivating display of talent showcased during the game, highlighting Zambia’s prowess in football. Additionally, he extended congratulations to the Under-17 Zambia National Women’s team for their impressive 2-0 triumph over Uganda in a World Cup Qualifier match earlier in the day.

Expressing the government’s commitment to supporting various sports disciplines, President Hichilema urged the corporate sector to collaborate in fostering the growth of sports across the country. He emphasized the importance of such partnerships in nurturing athletic talent and promoting national pride through sporting achievements.

The President concluded by extending heartfelt congratulations to the Red Arrows, lauding them as the deserving champions of the 2024 Absa Cup.
