Former deputy president Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka has re-entered the political arena, aligning herself with the ANC’s election campaign ahead of the May 29 polls. Mlambo-Ngcuka, who has largely been absent from ANC activities since resigning as deputy president in 2008, emphasized the challenging nature of the current campaign, noting its difficulty for all parties involved.
In a recent statement, Mlambo-Ngcuka highlighted the ongoing conflict in Gaza, stressing the need for greater efforts to halt the violence and protect Palestinian lives. She emphasized the collective responsibility to advocate for peace and amplify the voices of those affected by the conflict.
Mlambo-Ngcuka’s involvement comes as the ANC ramps up its election efforts, with prominent figures such as former presidents Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe, along with former deputy president David Mabuza, joining the campaign trail in support of the party’s bid for majority votes in the upcoming elections.
