Kia’s new Seltos SUV boasts a unique feature that goes beyond entertainment – “Sounds of Nature.” This isn’t just white noise; the carmaker claims it can actually enhance your brainpower.

Intrigued by this unusual perk during a test drive, The Africa Daily Post Motoring discovered a selection of five nature soundscapes on the Seltos’ 10.25-inch infotainment system. Options range from “Night in the Country” with its hooting owls and chirping crickets, to “Rainy Days” featuring a downpour on a tin roof.

But the real surprise lies in the science behind these sounds. Kia says they use “pink noise,” a specific frequency range known to stimulate the brain. They claim it increases alpha waves, promoting a “flow state” ideal for creativity.

Independent research seems to back this up. Creative scientist Katherine Lewis observed increased brain activity, particularly in areas associated with creativity and emotional control, after subjects listened to the Seltos’ nature tracks.

While the base Kia Seltos starts at $24,490, the potential cognitive benefits offered by the “Sounds of Nature” feature add an unexpected layer of value. This innovative approach to in-car ambiance could be a game-changer, not just for relaxation, but for drivers seeking to tap into their creative flow.
