Abuja, Nigeria – Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima is set to depart from Abuja this evening, bound for Dallas, United States of America, where he will represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit organized by the Corporate Council on Africa.

The summit, slated to take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, will convene a host of political and business leaders from across Africa, the United States, and beyond. It is expected to feature high-level dialogues, networking sessions, and plenary discussions.

Among the notable African leaders anticipated to attend are H.E. Joseph Boakai of Liberia, H.E. Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, H.E. Joao Lourenço of Angola, H.E. Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi of Botswana, H.E. José Maria Neves of Cabo Verde, and Hon. Nthomeng Majara, the Deputy Prime Minister of Lesotho.

During the summit, VP Shettima will participate in various sessions, including a Roundtable on African Infrastructure Investment focusing on impact and returns, a high-level panel on agribusiness transitioning “from food insecurity to thriving agribusinesses,” and a plenary session on Navigating Africa’s Energy Future. Furthermore, he is scheduled to chair a session dedicated to promoting the ‘invest in Nigeria’ initiative.
