KADUNA, Nigeria – The Tudun Biri community, still reeling from the December 3rd accidental bombing by the Nigerian Army, has refuted claims of filing a N33 billion lawsuit against the Federal Government. Community spokesperson Jafaru clarified that the community is instead impressed with the level of support and response shown by both the federal and Kaduna State governments.
Media reports earlier suggested the community, which lost over 80 lives and suffered numerous injuries, had sought compensation through legal action. However, Jafaru, during a meeting with Governor Uba Sani, dismissed these reports as false and potentially instigated by “conflict merchants” seeking to exploit the tragedy for personal gain.
While acknowledging the immense grief and devastation caused by the incident, Jafaru expressed appreciation for the government’s swift response and ongoing support. He specifically commended the efforts of both the federal and state governments in providing immediate relief and initiating the rebuilding process in the affected areas.
“We are grateful for the support we have received so far,” Jafaru stated. “Both the federal and state governments have been proactive in their response, and we are confident that they will continue to stand by us during this difficult time.”
Governor Sani echoed Jafaru’s sentiments, praising the community’s resilience and patience in the face of tragedy. He assured the residents that the government would not tolerate any attempts to exploit the incident for political or personal gain.
“We will not allow anyone to use this unfortunate event to create tension or division within our state,” Sani declared. “Our top priority is to support the victims and their families, rebuild the affected community, and ensure such a tragedy never happens again.”
Sani further directed security agencies to investigate the source of the false lawsuit claims and identify those responsible for spreading misinformation. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and unity during this sensitive time.
