In a recent update, Simon Ekpa, a prominent Biafra agitator, revealed that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is in need of immediate ear surgery. Ekpa stated that Kanu’s left ear has been persistently affected by an ear ailment, which he claims was a result of torture.

Taking to his Twitter account, Ekpa relayed the information, stating, “MNK has instructed me to let Nigerians, Biafrans, and all human rights organizations know that the ear ailment, which was inflicted on him as a result of torture, has been disturbing him on his left ear.”

Ekpa further disclosed that the Department of State Services (DSS) has acknowledged the urgency of the situation, as Kanu is experiencing severe pain and sleeplessness. A doctor provided by the DSS has confirmed the necessity of immediate surgery to address the issue.

“The DSS has finally brought a doctor, who confirmed that urgent surgery is needed because he is in severe pain and couldn’t sleep anymore,” Ekpa added.

The revelation of Kanu’s deteriorating health condition has raised concerns among supporters of the Biafra movement and human rights organizations. The need for urgent medical attention has drawn attention to the alleged mistreatment and torture faced by Kanu during his time in detention.

Nnamdi Kanu, a prominent pro-Biafra activist, was arrested in 2021 and has since faced a series of legal battles. The IPOB leader is known for advocating for the independence of Biafra, a region in southeastern Nigeria, and has amassed a significant following.

As news of Kanu’s urgent ear surgery spreads, there is growing anticipation for further updates on his health and the actions being taken by relevant authorities to ensure his well-being. The situation has sparked renewed discussions about human rights, freedom of speech, and the treatment of detainees in Nigeria.

It remains to be seen how this development will impact the ongoing discourse surrounding the Biafra agitation and the fate of Nnamdi Kanu. The international community and human rights organizations will likely keep a close eye on the situation, urging a fair and just resolution.
