The village of Runji in the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State was struck by tragedy on Saturday as bandits attacked, leaving a devastating aftermath. The Chairman of the local government, Francis Sani, has confirmed that the death toll has risen to 33, with over 40 houses burnt down and seven individuals sustaining injuries of varying degrees. The injured are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The funeral service for the 33 victims of the brutal attack took place amidst tears as grieving relatives and members of the community came together to bid their final farewells. The senseless violence has left the entire community in shock and mourning.

The residents of Runji Village are now pleading with the security agencies and the government to take urgent action to quell the persistent insecurity in the southern part of Kaduna State. They fear that if the situation is not addressed promptly, their community could be wiped out completely by the ruthless bandits who continue to terrorize the area.

The escalating violence and loss of innocent lives in Kaduna State has raised concerns among residents and calls for more robust security measures to protect vulnerable communities. The government and security agencies are being urged to take decisive action to bring an end to the incessant attacks and restore peace and security to the region.

The recent attack in Runji Village is a stark reminder of the urgent need for concerted efforts to address the security challenges facing Kaduna State and ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens. The people of Runji Village and other affected communities deserve to live without fear of violence and should be able to go about their daily lives in peace. It is hoped that the authorities will take swift action to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice and prevent further loss of life and property in the region.
