Former President Goodluck Jonathan revealed that he cried when he was chosen to contest for Nigeria’s Vice President alongside the late Musa Yar’Adua, stating that he accepted it as his destiny.
During a condolence visit to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Jonathan advised politicians and their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the 2023 elections.
He also stressed that politics is about serving the people and not being in power for personal ambition, adding that those who want to serve must be humble and not kill before serving.
Jonathan served as Vice President for three years and later became President following the death of Yar’Adua. He contested and won the 2011 presidential election but lost his reelection bid to Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
