Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State advocates for zoning to determine National Assembly leadership. He made this known after a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Tuesday.
The governor, who was recently elected to represent Ebonyi South District in the Senate, explained that the party considers specific parameters to carry all regions along rather than allowing everyone to compete.
However, he declined to provide further details due to party directives to halt discussions until after the governorship and state assembly elections on March 18. Governor Umahi also revealed that he requested the President to take over the Ebonyi Airport to ease the burden of maintaining the country’s largest cargo and international airport.
