Ndudi Elumelu, who is the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has failed in his attempt to win re-election to the National Assembly.
His opponent, Ngozi Okolie from the Labour Party, emerged victorious in the election held for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State on Saturday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer for the constituency, Prof Kenneth Abaraibe, announced that Okolie secured 53,879 votes, while Elumelu garnered 33,466 votes. The result was declared at the INEC Collation Centre located in the Oshimili South Local Government Secretariat in Asaba.
