The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Titus Zam, emerged as the winner of the Benue North West Senatorial District election in the National Assembly, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
The APC candidate received 143,151 votes, while the PDP and Labour Party scored 106,882 and 51,950 votes respectively.
Interestingly, Zam was previously an appointee of Governor Ortom in his first tenure from 2015 to 2019, where he served as the Special Adviser on local government and chieftaincy affairs before leaving the administration on grounds of loyalty.
