Former NHIS Executive Secretary Professor Usman Yusuf believes that none of the APC governors in the North will be able to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming election.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s “The 2023 Verdict,” Professor Yusuf stated that none of the APC governors in the North possess the support of the people to back Tinubu.
He explained that Tinubu’s political influence is primarily centered in Lagos, where he faces little opposition. Despite having built relationships with people, Tinubu lacks national political experience, which is becoming apparent, according to the former NHIS head.
In the North, Tinubu is not connecting with the people and is instead relying on praise singers and APC governors to lead his campaign. Professor Yusuf pointed out that Tinubu only performs at campaign events and then leaves.
On President Muhammadu Buhari’s plans to hand over power to an APC candidate, Professor Yusuf believes that the decision lies with the people’s wishes and that Buhari has lost both international and national support.
