The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, promised to secure Nigeria and eliminate parallel government run by criminals during a campaign event in Kano on Sunday. Obi stated, “I promise to secure and protect the people of Nigeria.
Obi stated this while addressing supporters in Kano during his Presidential campaign.
We will ensure that the enemy and criminals are not stronger than the government.
We will have one government. And they will not have space in it. We will secure Nigerians. We will unite Nigeria.” He also pledged to convert the Sambisa forest into agricultural land, boost exports and turn Nigeria into a production-based economy.
Additionally, he expressed confidence in his ability to lead the North out of poverty and to revive Kano’s former prosperity.
The National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure, criticized the 22 years of rule under the People’s Democratic Party and All Progressive Congress, blaming them for the nation’s current state of affairs.
