Starting in 2024, Netflix will live stream the annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

The streaming platform has taken over the rights to the ceremony, which had previously been broadcast on cable networks TNT and TBS.

This year’s ceremony will be streamed on Netflix’s YouTube channel, and next year it will be available to subscribers on the Netflix service.

The company is currently exploring the idea of live programming, including the possibility of live sports, with its first live event being a Chris Rock comedy special on March 4th.

Netflix’s Co-CEO Ted Sarandos has stated that he does not see a “path to profitability” in big sports but has not ruled out the possibility of adding sports to the service in the future.
