Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has lauded President William Ruto for his unwavering stance against sanctions imposed on African nations.
During an intimate dinner at State House Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, Mnangagwa expressed his admiration for Ruto’s bold stance, emphasizing that few leaders possess such courage.
Addressing the gathering, Mnangagwa commended Ruto’s vocal opposition to the sanctions, contrasting his forthright approach with the reticence often observed among world leaders.
“We also applaud your resolute stance regionally, continentally, and globally, particularly your outspoken condemnation of the sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe. It’s a source of pride for us,” declared the Zimbabwean President.

Ruto’s visit to Zimbabwe commenced with a warm reception from his counterpart Mnangagwa. As the chief guest at the 64th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo, Ruto’s presence underscores the significance of fostering robust political, economic, and socio-cultural ties between the two nations.
We are leveraging on our deep historical social, political and economic ties with Zimbabwe to unlock our untapped opportunities and utilise the abundant natural resources for the benefit of our citizens.

During his stay, Ruto is slated to underscore the pivotal role of international trade fairs and forums in driving economic growth, fostering industrial development, establishing global connections, and generating employment opportunities.
Ruto is also expected to finalize agreements encompassing health, defense, investment, education, transport, and capacity-building in public service sectors during his visit.
In discussions with President Mnangagwa, Ruto will advocate for enhanced air connectivity between Kenya and Zimbabwe in alignment with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Tripartite Alliance Free Trade Area.
