A delegation from the Ghana Chapter of the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) met with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Mavis Nkansah Boadu, on Friday, April 26th, 2024.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce the IYF’s upcoming activities and establish a stronger connection with the Foreign Ministry. Dr. David Oh, the IYF’s Country Director in Ghana, outlined the organization’s mission: empowering Ghanaian youth through leadership training, character development, skills programs, and cultural exchange initiatives.
Excitingly, the IYF is planning to construct a dedicated youth center in Ghana. This space will offer a variety of programs and activities, equipping young people with the skills they need to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Rev. Ato Edwin, the IYF’s General Secretary, elaborated on the organization’s existing programs. These programs target youth at the secondary and tertiary levels, as well as individuals in rural areas with limited educational backgrounds. Activities include youth camps, IT skills training, leadership workshops, and character-building initiatives.
Deputy Minister Boadu commended the IYF’s efforts and pledged the Ministry’s support in their mission to empower Ghana’s youth to become responsible leaders.
The International Youth Fellowship is a global organization headquartered in Korea. Focusing on youth development through educational and cultural programs, the IYF operates in numerous countries worldwide.
