Abu Dhabi, UAE – April 24, 2024 – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held talks on Monday, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and addressing key regional concerns.
The leaders discussed ways to deepen cooperation between their nations across various sectors, aiming to achieve mutual benefits. They also exchanged views on critical regional and international developments.
Both Sheikh Mohamed and King Hamad expressed optimism for the upcoming 33rd Arab Summit, hosted by Bahrain in May. They hope the summit will yield positive outcomes that bolster Arab solidarity, strengthen the region’s political and economic standing, and safeguard its security.
The leaders emphasized the need for de-escalation in the Middle East, urging prioritization of diplomatic solutions and dialogue to resolve conflicts. They called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to protect civilians and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.
Sheikh Mohamed and King Hamad stressed the importance of pursuing a comprehensive peace agreement that grants Palestinians their legitimate rights, including an independent state based on the two-state solution.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of ongoing consultations and collaboration between the UAE and Bahrain. The leaders committed to a unified strategic vision that serves their countries’ shared interests, reinforces Gulf and Arab ties, and promotes international cooperation for peace and human values.
King Hamad, during his visit to the UAE, expressed his pride in the longstanding and close relationship between the two nations. He extended his well wishes for continued progress and prosperity to the UAE’s leadership, government, and people.
