Seoul, South Korea – March 18, 2024 – The Honorable Hugh Hilton Todd, Guyana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, joined world leaders today at the opening ceremony of the 3rd Summit for Democracy in Seoul, South Korea. The summit, hosted by the Korean government, focused on the theme of “AI/Digital Technology and Democracy.”
President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea, Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul, and co-hosts from the United Kingdom, Ecuador, and the United States delivered opening remarks. The ceremony will be followed by a ministerial conference, an intergovernmental dialogue among foreign ministers, and a multi-stakeholder roundtable discussion.
This year’s summit brings together leaders to explore the intersection of democracy and rapidly evolving technological advancements.
