ABU DHABI, UAE – The United Arab Emirates has received another group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients in need of medical attention. This marks the 13th such group airlifted to the UAE as part of a broader initiative launched by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The program aims to provide critical medical care for 1,000 wounded children and another 1,000 cancer patients from the war-torn Gaza Strip. A total of 98 Palestinians arrived on Saturday, including 40 children with severe injuries and burns, alongside cancer patients requiring specialized treatment.
This latest group brings the total number of patients received by UAE hospitals to 1,154. The initiative reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in the face of a worsening humanitarian crisis.
Dr. Maha Tayseer Barakat, the UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Medical Affairs, emphasized the country’s unwavering dedication to alleviating the suffering of Gazans. She highlighted the UAE’s establishment of a field hospital within Gaza, a floating hospital in nearby Al Arish, Egypt, and the provision of vital medical supplies to Gaza’s existing healthcare facilities.
Upon arrival, medical teams swiftly transferred patients requiring immediate care to hospitals, while others were transported to the Emirates Humanitarian City for temporary accommodation. Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health, reaffirmed the emirate’s medical facilities’ readiness to provide comprehensive care and specialized treatment.
