South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will co-chair the second session of the South Africa-Ghana Bi-National Commission (BNC) on March 12th, alongside Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The BNC, preceded by a ministerial meeting on March 11th, aims to solidify cooperation between the two nations. Discussions will cover various sectors including political and diplomatic affairs, defense and security, social development, and economic development.
This high-level meeting follows the inaugural BNC session held in December 2021. Leaders will assess progress on previously agreed-upon decisions and chart a course for future collaboration.
A concurrent business forum will bring together South African and Ghanaian businesses on March 12th. The forum aims to boost trade and investment between the two countries, capitalizing on the African Continental Free Trade Area. Increased economic activity is expected to generate growth and job creation in both nations.
President Ramaphosa will be joined by a high-level delegation of ministers representing various departments crucial to the BNC discussions. These include international relations, defense, agriculture, education, trade, and more.
