Nairobi, Kenya – Kenya and Kazakhstan took a significant step towards a stronger relationship today with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Political Consultations. The agreement, signed by Dr. Korir SingOei, Principal Secretary of Kenya’s State Department of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Barlybay Sadykov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kenya, establishes a framework for ongoing cooperation between the two countries.
The signing ceremony, held earlier today, was witnessed by H.E. Mr. Erzhan Kh. Kazykhan, Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan for External Affairs. Prior to the signing, Dr. Sing-Oei and Mr. Kazykhan held discussions to evaluate the current state of relations between the nations. Both expressed confidence that the new MOU will pave the way for regular engagement at various diplomatic levels.
This agreement signifies a commitment by Kenya and Kazakhstan to build a stronger and more collaborative relationship. With the newly established framework for political consultations, the two countries can now engage in regular dialogue on a range of issues, fostering closer ties and potential avenues for collaboration.
The ceremony was also attended by Kenyan officials, including Amb. Rose Maken Muchiri, Director for Europe and the Commonwealth, and Mr. David Maina, Deputy Director for Europe and the Commonwealth.
