Accra, Ghana: Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, reaffirmed strong bonds with the international community during the annual New Year’s Greetings ceremony held at the Presidential Lodge in Peduase on March 4th, 2024.
The event, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, brought together members of the diplomatic corps to foster goodwill and strengthen ties between Ghana and other nations, as well as international organizations.
Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey expressed gratitude to the diplomatic community for their support during the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Meeting held in Accra last December. She highlighted the annual gathering as a symbol of the enduring relationships Ghana enjoys with its partner countries.

President Akufo-Addo emphasized the strong friendships and ongoing cooperation in strategic areas between Ghana and the represented nations. He encouraged the Heads of Mission to further enhance bilateral relations, building upon the successes of past collaborations.
The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Maher Kheir, spoke of the event’s significance. He noted that the gathering of diplomats reflects the unity and shared values needed to tackle global challenges.
Government officials, senior foreign ministry representatives, and traditional and religious leaders also attended the ceremony.
