Abu Dhabi, UAE – February 26, 2024: Yemen’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohamed Al Ashwwal, praised the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its significant role in supporting and enhancing global trade. He expressed confidence that the UAE’s efforts will contribute to the success of the ongoing World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference (MC13).
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the conference, Al Ashwwal highlighted the UAE’s remarkable progress in becoming a regional and international player in global trade. He viewed the hosting of MC13 in Abu Dhabi as a testament to the country’s stature as a hub for commercial activity.
Expressing optimism for the conference’s outcome, Al Ashwwal anticipated crucial decisions benefiting global trade, supply chains, and particularly, food supply chains. He emphasized his hope for the conference to yield important and decisive resolutions.
The MC13, which began on February 26th, brings together over 120 countries to discuss and negotiate key trade issues.
