Dubai, UAE – Professor Nkombo Muuka, the newly appointed Consul General of Zambia in Dubai, has presented his credentials to the UAE government, pledging to strengthen bilateral relations and unlock economic opportunities for both nations.
During the ceremony on February 7th, Mr. Rashid Al Qaseer, Director of the Dubai office of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted Zambia’s potential in agriculture and other sectors, urging the Consul General to explore these avenues. He also encouraged exploring additional flight options with FlyDubai, complementing Emirates’ existing daily service to Lusaka.
Professor Muuka responded by outlining a comprehensive vision for the Zambian Mission in the UAE. He aims to broaden and deepen relations with all seven Emirates, attract more UAE foreign direct investment (FDI) to Zambia, and expand Zambian product exports to the UAE market. Additionally, he plans to boost tourism from the UAE to Zambia, showcasing attractions across all 10 provinces, while enhancing consular services for Zambians living in the UAE. Engaging with the “11th Province” – Diasporic Zambians in the UAE and the Gulf region – and facilitating collaboration between the Zambian Mission, businesses, and the UAE government to implement agreements are also key priorities.
