Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak signed a landmark security agreement today, marking a major step towards solidifying Ukraine’s defenses and future security beyond NATO membership.
This historic deal, the first of its kind from a G7 nation, signifies a deep commitment to regional stability and unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.
The UK-Ukraine Agreement on Security Cooperation goes beyond traditional military aid, offering a comprehensive package of support across areas like intelligence sharing, cybersecurity, military and medical training, and defense industrial cooperation.
Notably, the agreement commits the UK to “consult with Ukraine” in the event of any future conflict with Russia and to provide “swift and sustained assistance” on defense issues.
