Zimbabwean President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa spent the weekend highlighting two key pillars of the nation’s economy: agriculture and tourism. On January 4th, the President visited Precabe Farm in Kwekwe, witnessing the potato harvest firsthand. He praised the “magnificent morning” and the “hard work and dedication” of Zimbabwe’s farmers, calling agriculture the “backbone of our nation.”
“Together, let’s continue to cultivate success and prosperity for Zimbabwe,” Mnangagwa declared, underlining the crucial role agriculture plays in the country’s development.

Just three days later, the President’s focus shifted to another vital sector: tourism. On January 7th, he took his family to the breathtaking World’s View in Nyanga, immersing themselves in the region’s natural beauty and visiting local trout farms. This trip aligns with the government’s vision of promoting domestic tourism, a strategy aimed at bolstering the economy and creating jobs.
“It is one of the leading tourist attractions in the country,” Mnangagwa remarked on World’s View, expressing his encouragement at the growing number of both local and international tourists visiting Zimbabwe. He further welcomed the increasing investments in new tourism products and facilities, seeing them as a positive development for the sector.
