She has been appointed Deputy Executive Director for Normative Support, UN System Coordination, and Programme Results at UN-Women, the global entity dedicated to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Her impressive resume boasts previous leadership roles as General Secretary of the World Young Women’s Christian Association, where she empowered millions of young women globally and advocated fiercely for their rights. Gumbonzvanda has also served as a UNIFEM Regional Programming Director, a UNICEF Human Rights Officer, and a National Child Rights Adviser in Zimbabwe.
