Maseru, Lesotho – Strengthening bilateral ties and fostering cooperation, a high-ranking Chinese delegation led by Mr. Mu Hong, Vice-Chairperson of the Chinese People’s Consultative Conference (CPPCC), arrived in Lesotho for a five-day visit from December 18th to 23rd, 2023.
The visit delves into deeper collaboration between the two nations, focusing on future initiatives and evaluating the progress of projects undertaken through the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The CPPCC, a key advisory body within China’s political landscape, plays a crucial role in fostering cooperation across various sectors, including economics, agriculture, social affairs, and international relations.
Mr. Hong, accompanied by fifteen officials, has a packed schedule set to solidify connections across Lesotho’s political landscape. Meetings with top officials, including the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, are planned alongside courtesy calls on the President of the Senate and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Their itinerary also includes tours of prominent sites like the Maseru District Hospital and Eye Clinic, along with the Manthabiseng Convention Center.
