DUBAI, UAE – President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended part of the Group of 77 and China meetings held during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) at Expo City Dubai.
In his address, President Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the leaders present and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to enhancing global cooperation to achieve the ambitious goals set for COP28. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among developing nations to address the urgent climate crisis.
Attendees praised the UAE’s role in hosting these pivotal meetings and highlighted the value of dialogue and collaboration among the group’s members. They commended the announcement of a fund for climate solutions and underscored the significance of the COP28 action plan aimed at safeguarding ecosystems, developing climate-resilient food systems, and empowering vulnerable communities.
The Group of 77 and China is a coalition of 135 developing countries that promotes collective action and economic cooperation among its members. The UAE’s participation in the group’s meetings reflects its commitment to supporting developing nations and addressing global challenges such as climate change.
