Nairobi, Kenya – His Majesty King Charles III received a warm welcome at the United Nations Headquarters in Nairobi and UN-Habitat today. The visit, hosted by Michal Mlynár, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the United Nations, underscored the King’s commitment to global environmental and urbanization issues.
During his visit, King Charles III engaged in insightful conversations, particularly focusing on urban planning, in a collaborative effort with the United Kingdom. The King’s presence was seen as a testament to his strong advocacy for global environmental initiatives.
“Nowhere is this spirit better embodied than here, in you all,” King Charles III remarked, acknowledging the shared dedication of the 5,000 staff at the United Nations Office in Nairobi. His Majesty stressed the paramount importance of unity and cooperation, lauding the efforts of UN-Habitat and the United Nations Environment Programme for their positive contributions towards global environmental sustainability.
