Lusaka, Zambia – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced that Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema will undertake a one-day working visit to the Kingdom of Lesotho on November 2, 2023, in his capacity as Chair of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation.
President Hichilema will be supported by the SADC Panel of Elders on this mission, in line with the agreed decision by the Organ Troika Summit of Heads of State and Government, which was convened on August 16, 2023, in Luanda, Angola.
The President is expected to hold consultations with the leadership and other selected stakeholders on issues and developments in the Kingdom of Lesotho.
President Hichilema remains firmly committed to implementing the decisions of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation in order to foster peace, security and stability in the region.
President Hichilema is expected to return to Zambia on the same day.
