LUSAKA, Zambia – Malawi’s Foreign Minister Nancy Tembo joined Zambia’s High Commissioner to Malawi Lieutenant Colonel Panji Kaunda and the Zambian community in Malawi on October 27, 2023, to commemorate Zambia’s 59th Independence Anniversary.
Tembo, who was the guest of honor at the event, said she was delighted to be there because of the special bonds of friendship between Malawi and Zambia, which connect the two countries in the economic, political, and social spheres.
In her speech, Tembo highlighted the importance of the Malawi-Zambia relationship, which she said is based on a shared history, culture, and values. She also praised Zambia’s progress since independence, and said that Malawi looks forward to continuing to work closely with Zambia to promote peace, development, and prosperity in the region.
The event was also attended by other senior government officials from both Malawi and Zambia, as well as members of the diplomatic community.
