Mpumalanga, South Africa – In a significant step towards bridging the digital divide and enhancing educational opportunities, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms. Candith Mashego-Dlamini, and the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, collaboratively handed over 20 laptops to learners at Mshadza and Lungisani Secondary Schools on Friday, October 13, 2023.
The Deputy Minister was warmly welcomed by the MMC for Community Services, Ms. Phindile Mbowane, Mr. Nkosi, and the School Governing Body (SGB) upon her arrival. The event underscored the commitment of both the South African government and the State of Qatar towards empowering learners with essential technological tools for their educational advancement.

The generous donation of 20 laptops, 10 for each school, was met with immense gratitude and enthusiasm by the school communities. These laptops will undoubtedly play a crucial role in enabling learners to access digital resources, participate in online learning platforms, and enhance their overall educational experience.
This initiative aligns with the South African government’s vision of promoting digital literacy and ensuring that learners have equal access to technology, irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds. The donation also strengthens the diplomatic ties between South Africa and Qatar, highlighting their shared commitment to education and youth empowerment.
