Emmerson Mnangagwa of the ruling Zanu PF party has been re-elected as president of Zimbabwe, receiving 52.6% of the vote. His rival, Nelson Chamisa of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), was second with 44%.
Zanu PF also won a majority of seats in the National Assembly, with 136 seats to the CCC’s 73.

The election for Gutu West was canceled following the death of a candidate before the elections.
The election was condemned by observers from the Southern African Development Community (SADC), who said it was marred by irregularities.
The CCC has rejected the results of the election and called for fresh elections to be held.
