The Prime Minister of Lesotho, Dr. Moeketsi Majoro, has called for dialogue and cooperation to address the global challenges facing the world today.
Speaking at the 15th BRICS Summit in South Africa, Majoro said that the world is facing an unprecedented multitude of crises, including geopolitical tensions, global pandemics, and climate change.
He said that these crises are having a devastating impact on human life, livelihoods, economies, and communities around the world.
Majoro called for dialogue and negotiation as fundamental tools for achieving economic development and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
He also called for the reform of the United Nations Security Council and the Bretton Woods Institutions to ensure equitable economic growth.
Majoro said that BRICS can play a valuable role in addressing the key challenges facing the global south.
He invited BRICS countries to partner with Lesotho in areas such as trade, investment, and technological development.
Majoro also said that Lesotho is committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and is actively engaging the youth to ensure swift and effective implementation of the UN Agenda 2030.
He concluded by saying that with BRICS and Africa in partnership, a better life for all is achievable.
