Anzali Port (IP) – The Russian missile launcher, named ‘MakhachKala,’ has arrived at Anzali Port in the fourth zone of the Iranian Navy. The docking of the Russian vessel in the northern region of Iran serves the purpose of implementing the agreements of the Joint Commission on Military Cooperation, engaging in negotiations at the naval forces headquarters, conducting port visits, strengthening bilateral ties in the maritime sector, and fostering the development of maritime diplomacy.
As part of the visit, the Commander of the Northern Fleet of Iran held a meeting with the Russian delegation, explored Bandar-e Anzali city and its free zone, participated in sports competitions, and engaged in PASSEX exercises. These exercises, conducted jointly by the Iranian and Russian navies, aim to enhance communication and cooperation capabilities between the two countries’ naval forces.
Iran and Russia share strategic interests across various areas, including economic, military, and security relations. Additionally, both nations closely collaborate on regional and international matters, such as countering unilateral actions by the United States. This shared objective has been a significant driving force behind the close cooperation between the two sides in recent years.
