Akufo-Addo commissions six new envoys

Accra, Ghana – On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the Republic of Ghana commissioned six new envoys in a ceremony held at the Jubilee House in Accra. The envoys, who will represent Ghana in various countries, were charged with working in the best interest of Ghana and promoting the country’s development.

The newly commissioned envoys include H.E. Mr. Samuel Yao Kumah, who will serve as the High Commissioner to Australia, H.E. Doris Adzo Denyo Brese, appointed as the Ambassador to the Czech Republic, H.E. Mr. Kingsford Amoako, designated as the Ambassador to Liberia, H.E. Mr. Mohammed Habib, chosen as the Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Mr. Mark Michael Entsie, assigned as the Ambassador to Libya, and H.E. Mr. Alex Owiredu Adu, appointed as the Ambassador to Niger.

During the commissioning ceremony, President Akufo-Addo urged the new envoys to diligently represent Ghana’s interests in their respective countries of accreditation. He emphasized the importance of familiarizing themselves with the core mandate of the Ghana CARES (Obaatan Pa) Programme, as well as other government policies, in order to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for the country’s development.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the envoys, H.E. Mr. Samuel Yao Kumah, the newly appointed High Commissioner to Australia, conveyed appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for entrusting them with their new roles. He assured the President that they would work tirelessly to promote and safeguard the interests of Ghana in their respective diplomatic assignments.
