Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Sultan Abdulrahman Al Dakhel, has presented his Open Letters of Credence to the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Thomas Mbomba, during a ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry on Friday, 2nd June, 2023. The event marked the official beginning of Mr. Al Dakhel’s tenure as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Ghana.
During their meeting, Ambassador-designate Al Dakhel expressed his eagerness to deepen the existing relations between Ghana and Saudi Arabia for the mutual benefit of their respective peoples. Recognizing the fruitful cooperation between the two nations in the areas of education, energy, and health, Mr. Al Dakhel emphasized his commitment to building upon these foundations and expanding cooperation even further.
In response, Hon. Thomas Mbomba, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, praised the Government of Saudi Arabia for its collaborative efforts with Ghana across various sectors. He particularly acknowledged the contributions made in education, energy, and health, highlighting the Ghanaian government’s dedication to promoting its ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ agenda. Hon. Mbomba emphasized its role as a launchpad for Saudi businesses aiming to access the broader African market facilitated by the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
