On Friday, June 2nd, Chargé d’affaires Earl Miller of the United States Embassy in Eswatini embarked on an inspiring visit to two volunteer sites of Peace Corps Eswatini. The purpose of the visit was to witness firsthand the remarkable work being carried out by dedicated Peace Corps volunteers and to engage with the local communities benefiting from their presence.

One of the sites visited by Chargé Miller was the placement of Lilly, a recently sworn-in G19 volunteer who is actively integrating into her community and school as part of the Youth Development program. During the visit, Chargé Miller had the privilege of meeting with local leaders, school administrators, and students, all of whom expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the invaluable presence and impact of Peace Corps Volunteers in their community.

Chargé Miller also had the honor of visiting Nancy, a G18 Community Health volunteer, who is diligently implementing the GRS program (which focuses on HIV prevention sessions) in her local school. The Chargé actively participated in an interactive group session facilitated by Nancy and shared his own words of inspiration with the eager students.

The Peace Corps Eswatini extends its sincere appreciation to the communities across the country that have warmly embraced Peace Corps volunteers and wholeheartedly supported their development initiatives. It is through the generous spirit and collaborative partnership of these communities that meaningful connections are formed, leading to lasting and positive change.

The Peace Corps program continues to build bridges of understanding and friendship between the United States and Eswatini. Through cultural exchange, skills sharing, and community engagement, the volunteers exemplify the spirit of service and embody the shared values of both nations.

The United States Embassy commends the remarkable work being carried out by Peace Corps volunteers in Eswatini and remains committed to supporting their endeavors. The dedication of these volunteers, coupled with the support of local communities, will undoubtedly continue to make a significant difference in the lives of many.
